In Egypt. In October.

The absurdity grows:
So we now discover that the hideously offensive and blasphemous cartoons - so blasphemous that CNN, the New York Times, and the Washington Post, won't publish them ... were reprinted last October. In Egypt. On the front frigging page. No one rioted. No editor at Al Fager was threatened. So it's official: the Egyptian state media is less deferential to Islamists than the New York Times.

Fascinating story unfolding. I'm still onside with the various opinions cited here.

I don't believe you're seeing the entire picture for what it is. There is clearly historical precedent regarding cartoonists and cultural enmity. Who could forget the feminist campaign against Charles Schulz when he launched the first strip of Lucy pulling the ball away from Charlie Brown--not to mention the fact that it gave rise to a generation of misogynists.

Re the West Wing quote -- if there were more Democrats who actually thought that way and had the political courage to say so, they'd have the White House and either the House or the Senate.

Now, I sincerely think that this proves (if true) that all the muslim manifestations around the world are just vile manipulations by the religious and political leaders in order to gain powers over the masses in their countries...
