The Line I've Feared

"The prime minister has just cut a $4.5 billion deal to buy votes to deal with allegations of vote buying," he said. "So to deal with Liberal corruption we get an NDP budget. The way that this parliament is supposed to work, I guess, is what the Liberals don't steal the NDP gets to spend."

-Stephen Harper, via Coyne via Politics Watch.

Here's a question, MacDuff -- did you fear that line because it'll make him PM, or because he's in the process of blowing the election? (I'm not sure which it is, right now, either.)

"Fear" from an NDP perspective, I suppose. I can stomach Harper as PM, but I'd like to see it be a minority with substantial gains for the New Democrats. I hope they aren't successfully tarred with the same brush.

Yes, it was a gamble, wasn't it?

I am pretty sure that we'll still see substantial gains for the NDP. Where else can principled people on the left go?
